Mask and Puppets

This course is for anyone with an interest in masks and puppetry as well as students, professional actors, teachers and puppeteers.

Mark will guide you through the techniques of playing the neutral and other masks and you will have a chance to operate bunraku style puppets. The course is designed to give a deeper understanding of:

• Body control and how the mask highlights your own movements in the space you inhabit
• Performance techniques
• How playing with the mask is related to bringing the puppet to life
• Techniques of how to play the mask and manipulate the puppet and communicate with an audience
